Shipping

Packages are generally dispatched within 1 day after receipt of payment and are shipped via various Courier companies, depending on your geographical area and who can get it to you in the least amount of time, with tracking. Signatures are compulsory, and the buyer must make themself available at the time of delivery.

If you prefer to send your own courier or shipping company, please contact us before we dispatch your goods. In some instances, this may prove faster.

*Overnight refers to locations that are Metropolitan (Metro) areas, e.g., Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, etc..., and are not yet available to our small town. Option available to us to be able to freight certain areas is still under construction by major courier companies and do we make the use of 3rd party couriers to ensure it arrive in the least amount of time.

Kindly ensure that you call and advise us that you need your goods urgently and that they must leave via Overnight or Overnight Express. This will help resolve any disappointments that may arise from your expectations as a customer.

Also important to note that Overnight Express is NOT a guaranteed service. As much as we try our best to get shipping companies to deliver overnight, external factors beyond the control of Midros DIY Store prevent us from ensuring a 100% success rate. Shipping companies have issues with strikes, petrol shortages, weather, riots, breakdowns, hijackings and other factors.

Overnight Service does NOT apply to Regional and Remote areas. This is a restriction from our shipping companies. Deliveries can take 3-7 Days to Remote areas.

**Economy Freight is 2-7 Days – These are usually goods that are very heavy or bulky, but not limited to, e.g., Body Panels, Engine Parts, Cylinder Heads, Differentials, Gearboxes, Engines, etc...

Regional areas are more than 50 km from a Metropolitan area and can take 1-2 Business Days

Remote areas are more than 100 km from Metropolitan areas and can take 3-7 Business Days

 

 

 

Our policy on Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) is unambiguous. The funds must be reflected in our bank account as cleared and available before any goods can leave our premises for delivery. We bank with Standard Bank and Capitec Business. Transfers from other banks can take up to three business (working) days. Submitting proof of payment is NOT proof that an EFT has cleared our account. An immediate clearance will be faster if you require the parts urgently. Failing to reference your order number that is provided with your quotation, will also delay the process of allocating your EFTs to your purchase.

We will not tolerate any abuse to our staff regarding this policy and reserve the right to cancel the order and refund your money once it has cleared.

 

 Shipping Delays

In certain rare instances, Overnight Deliveries are delayed due to unforeseen circumstances on the side of the shipping company. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for that.

Outlying areas, especially Remote Areas, do not have regular deliveries, and Courier Companies usually dedicate certain days of the week for delivery. Please enquire about these delivery days before purchase. Courier companies also have a practice of "Third Party Handover." This means a shipping company will outsource delivery to another shipping company, to a remote or rural area, without Midros DIY Store or its Customer knowing. We have found that these practices often lead to a communication breakdown. We will not be held liable for these types of delays.

Public holidays will delay shipping. Please consider this when purchasing.

Although items may be in stock, unforeseen problems may arise, e.g., the physical stock may vary from system stock counts. If these problems occur, the buyer will be immediately notified. Refunds will be processed if the stock cannot be sourced within a reasonable time frame, usually within seven days.

 

 Free Delivery

 

Certain products and promotions qualify for FREE** delivery

We can ship via Overnight Express* or Economy Freight**; at our discretion - Door to Door.

 Currently, purchases over R950.00 via the website qualify for Free Delivery**. Certain Goods classified as Economy Freight (Heavy Goods, Body Panels, Engines, Heavy Metal Parts, e.g., Crankshafts, Cylinder Heads, or Volumetric Weight determines - Bulky items) do not qualify for Free Delivery.

You can also pick it up at your closest Courier Depot or opt for Post Office Counter-to-Counter, Postnet, or PAXI (PEP) to save costs. There are many options for customers in Remote Locations, and we can discuss the best solution for you to receive your goods.

 

 

 

Mines, Plots, Farms, Game Reserves, National Parks, Local Parks, Universities, Army Bases, Hostels, Hospitals, and Power Stations are excluded from Free Delivery. These require special trips and can attract additional shipping charges. These charges will be discussed with the customer.

Delivery excludes Weekends and Public Holidays. These can be arranged at Special Costs determined by the shipping company.

Purchases made via our Call Centre may attract delivery charges. Please enquire how you can receive free delivery. Conditions apply.

International shipping is excluded. Please checkout using "In-Store Collection." After that, we will send you a shipping quote to your destination.

Grouping

Shipping can be grouped, and a discount can be applied to the total purchase. Goods must be available at dispatch for this to be completed.

On certain products, a handling charge may be incurred. Before purchase, this will be communicated to the buyer on the product listing page.

 

Goods Inspection by Customer

Great care is taken in handling and shipping of goods. Goods are packaged with a reasonable amount of packaging. The buyer must inspect goods at the time of receipt/delivery in the presence of the courier agent to ascertain if any damages have occurred during transit. Shipping companies rely on damaged packaging to validate claims against them. Shipping companies also rely on the signature or PIN on delivery to state that customers have received the goods in good condition. If no damage is visible, shipping companies usually repudiate liability, which becomes the customer's problem.

Kindly help us check that your goods have been received in good condition, even if someone else is signing for delivery on your behalf.

Please note: Whereas we will do our best to deliver your order as quickly as possible, Midros DIY Store will not be held responsible for delays outside of our control. Please note further, that although there are rare cases when a product is listed as being in stock but we are unable to locate it, we will endeavor to communicate this as soon as it is brought to our attention and supply an alternative or refund the purchase.

 

Local or Same day deliveries

This service is only limited to our immediate geographical areas. Middelburg EC town, kwanonzame, Lusaka, Midros and Noupoort town Centre.

At the time of submitting your purchase you are advised to send your current location live to our WhatsApp line for our drivers to be able to deliver you package to you on time.

All orders placed before 10am and moneys cleared will be delivered same day should order be complete. Any late orders or payments not reflected before this time will be delivered the following day.

This service excludes weekends and public holidays

Goods delivered must be inspected upon delivery and acceptance must be signed by receiver of goods for our delivery team to release the goods,

order number must be supplied by receiver or pin number for delivery team to release the goods

No more than 2 attempts will be allowed for successful delivery there after the parts order can be collected at the branch.

Noupoort

All packages will be delivered at central locations that will be communicated to you upon dispatch.

 

General

Please be advised all our drivers and couriers are instructed to spent no more than 10 minutes at a location and are on tight schedules to ensure everyone gets their deliveries on time, we urge you to always be present and polite at the time of the delivery, our drivers are under strict instructions to not deviate from routes and to stick to schedules, please respect them for it.
